morning meditation
The morning meditation talks about - Imaginative action is very important in life. Without it, we are less than human. For imagination to come into being, we need decisiveness and control. Unless we have these two factors, we cannot manifest the concentration to bring something into being. We should not surrender our right to decide the course of our lives to vague propitiations of the unknown. We should explore every new possibility that appeals to us and, with wise action, build the force of our character.
I feel so incredibly blessed to have had people around me that have encouraged me to explore new possibilities - my expediences have been rich, they have had great depth and weight, i have learned, laughed and loved. The best seems to be that out of all I have experienced it [life] feels as though it has only just begun!!!!

18 years ago i walked into sobriety - who knew it would give me a completely new life!
i fell incredibly blessed - it is said that "i once thought the worst thing that could happen was that i would be an alcoholic - today i find it is one the greatest gift i have been given!'

engaging the Energy that creates worlds
In your effort at motivation, because you are focused upon what you do not want, you do not have the benefit or help of your true power. But when you are focused completely upon what you do want - thereby releasing all resistance or opposition to your own desire - you are engaging the Energy that creates worlds, and your power of influence is mighty. In your connection to, and allowance of, your true power, your influence to bring others into their own power is great.

Rio Arriba County
While looking for information about some land in Rio Arriba County - I came across this written document. This clearly reflects the values and priorities that I find to be important. ~ annie
Planning Protects Traditions, Community, Quality of Life----By Patricio Garcia, Community Development Director The New Mexico sunlight sifts through the trees and mixes with the leaves scattered along the acequia to create an enduring sense of peace and place. For many of us, this walk along the water is where we find essential qualities of New Mexico, of Rio Arriba County, of community.
However, the very things that create this sense of place and create an artificial sense of seclusion and protection. Listen more closely and you can hear the cars on the highway or heavy equipment involved in nearby construction. You can almost hear the population of Rio Arriba County.
Among the most valuable assets in Rio Arriba County are its deep-rooted culture and environmental beauty. Together, they are a large part of why generation after generation has chosen to live here and why new neighbors arrive everyday. Yes, we need economic growth. Yes, development is on its way whether we like it or not. But we cannot grow at the cost of the very qualities that brought us and keep us here.
County Planning staff is working with representatives of the community on a comprehensive plan that attempts to balance the need for jobs, homes and services with the need to protect our quality of life. The county has formed study groups that are looking at growth, developement, and community needs and wants. Our population of 41,000 is expected to reach 52,000 by 2010 and we must plan for smart growth and sustainable development.
Land and water are important to the rituals of our community. When we lose our connection to the land, to our traditions, to our roots, we lose who we are. We must build our community but if we fail to maintain our strong self-identity at the same time, we invite an upsurge in social problems like substance abuse.
With every step we take forward, we must be careful to ensure that we are moving toward a future where our children can find their own path, perhaps along an acequia, and feel the sense of peace and place we do have today.

Love is in the air
shared my experience strength and hope at a women's meeting for those of you that get – get it!
Picked the topic of LOVE!
Amazing energy of love in the meeting and incredible happenings
As I expereince responses to the news of “hey, we’re looking to move” it occurs to me that I am compelled to share the information with others for a couple of reasons: one to share the news with others and because it is my process of my personal journey of coming to acceptance
I love the friends we have
I am incredibly grateful for the amazing network of friends of how we are connected here and there and everywhere!
I am convinced we will find more than we expected on this journey
I reminded myself about the importance of remaining focused on doing the daily practices that got me to where I am today!
Awoke at 2 am this morning – so much emotion - nothing in particular - just so much emotion

Insanity is
It is said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results I have lived in Arizona for about 20 years. I came here in 92 and I have seen the city grow out of the ruins of the savings and loan debacle - survived the tech crash and participated in Phoenix’s meteoric rise as the 5th largest city in the US yet be ranked about the 49th state in the US for education.
I've sat on the board of directors of non profits, I have actively – I mean really actively participated in politics -i've played with the Democrats, the Republicans and I ran for US Congress as an Independent on a transpartisanship platform – all right true enough we were probably ahead of our time – however point is we have not been slouches.
We have served actively in our community participated in fundraisers, from autism, to homelessness, to assisting in the building of the AZ Department of Peace, we have created event after event from founding One Planet magazine to creating peace on earth day events, to participating in building a straw bale studio in Dewey AZ.
I have friends in the solar industry, was a founding board member of the AZ Green Chamber of Commerce, have volunteered at schools, parks and walked the walks for breast cance, AIDS, domestic violence and lymphoma.
I have persistently prayed, paid, pleaded and participated.
I have shown up as radio talk show host, emcee, auctioneer, mediator, negotiator and facilitator!
All the while believing that what we will do and have done will not be individually important; however it is vital that we do and so we have done!
As I started - It is said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results -
The time has come to say good bye to our beloved desert in the Valley of Sun.
The Phoenix community was founded and grew on a principle of community not competition. Phoenix was birthed from the visions of cowboys, Indians, Mexicans, immigrants -- working together for a better life, no snow, laughing, loving and living long tough lives.
Then the migrants came – from Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Minnesota – none – the – less.
What is done is done.
It’s time to move on -
We have talked about leaving for several years – the conversation began in earnest when then gov Janet Napolitano made the extraordinary decision to empower the king Arpaio with the crazy authority of the 287g agreement and then appease the ignorant and militarize the AZ Mexico border.
I had been approached with the opportunity to pen a column for the AZ Capitol Times yet when I sat down to write nothing would come – first clue – I was at a loss for words – this is serious!!!
So many things confound me – how being and acting ignorant become synonymous for conservative?
It's not however in our let's rush to tell a story any story forget the facts and speaking form our biased perception we'll just make assumptions – no one individual or group of individuals or organizations are to blame – this responsibility falls on the shoulders of all of us.
Lunacy is not equal to liberal and ignorant is not equal to conservative.
All thought there are plenty of lunatic liberals and ignorant conservatives however if am off point again!
I am an independent – not a member of the independent party – I am an independent, an artist, a cultural creative, a visionary. I am a believer that what goes around comes around. I believe when I reach for joy. I will find it. And when I focus on the crap, that is all I see, so I choose to focus on opportunity. To that point, I am the happiest I have ever been in my life. Joyful! Expressive! I feel free!

I stand for . . .

I do not hesitate one second to state clearly and unmistakably: I belong to the human rights resistance movement - I stand for justice - I stand for human rights - I will continue to work for freedom and liberation from western imperialism, illusions of manifest destiny and oppressive capitalism just as the resistance movement secured the rights of women to vote, the rights of civil rights for black people and today we stand
